ChatGPT is definitely a big deal these days, even though it is still somewhat limited. An excellent way to put it to good use is to use ChatGPT for affiliate marketing. The AI is perfect for this.

How ChatGPT Can Help with Affiliate Marketing

ChatGPT is text-based, so it can help you in various ways when it comes to affiliate marketing. ChatGPT can be used to help you lay out a product review, create product descriptions, write affiliate posts for your blog, give you tips on where to insert affiliate links, and even create email marketing campaigns and write ads for you. However, you should note that AI isn’t always accurate, so fact-checking is essential.

Research Potential Affiliate Products with ChatGPT

Why not start out with the actual research? ChatGPT can provide you with plenty of ideas on what to look at. If you’re not sure of your niche yet, then go ahead and ask the AI for help. For example, when I asked it to give me the top converting affiliate niches, it threw this out:

1. Health and Wellness: This niche includes products related to weight loss, fitness, supplements, and overall well-being.
2. Personal Finance: This niche includes products related to budgeting, saving money, investing, credit cards, and financial management.
3. Beauty and Skincare: This niche includes products related to skincare, makeup, hair care, and beauty treatments.
4. Home and Garden: This niche includes products related to home improvement, gardening, interior design, and home organization.
5. Technology and Gadgets: This niche includes products related to electronics, gadgets, smart devices, and accessories.
6. Fashion and Apparel: This niche includes products related to clothing, footwear, accessories, and fashion trends.
7. Travel and Tourism: This niche includes products related to travel destinations, flights, hotels, tours, and travel accessories.
8. Parenting and Childcare: This niche includes products related to parenting tips, baby care, children’s toys, and education.
9. Food and Cooking: This niche includes products related to cooking equipment, kitchen appliances, recipes, and food ingredients.
10. Relationship and Dating: This niche includes products related to dating advice, relationship tips, and marriage counseling.

While these are all great niches, they’re also incredibly broad. Let’s choose one and break it down. For the purposes of this post, we’ll go with technology and gadgets, since this is a constantly improving niche. Now, we just ask ChatGPT to give us a list of 10 niches within that one.

1. Smart Home Technology: This niche includes products related to smart home devices such as smart speakers, smart thermostats, smart security systems, and smart lighting.
2. Gaming Accessories: This niche includes products related to gaming accessories such as gaming keyboards, gaming mice, gaming headsets, and gaming chairs.
3. Wearable Technology: This niche includes products related to wearable devices such as smartwatches, fitness trackers, and smart glasses.
4. Home Entertainment Systems: This niche includes products related to home entertainment systems such as soundbars, home theaters, and streaming devices.
5. Smartphone Accessories: This niche includes products related to smartphone accessories such as phone cases, screen protectors, chargers, and holders.
6. Camera and Photography Equipment: This niche includes products related to cameras, lenses, tripods, camera bags, and other photography accessories.
7. Audio and Music Equipment: This niche includes products related to audio and music equipment such as headphones, speakers, amplifiers, and musical instruments.
8. PC Components and Accessories: This niche includes products related to PC components and accessories such as graphics cards, CPUs, RAM, and gaming peripherals.
9. Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Technology: This niche includes products related to VR and AR technology such as VR headsets, AR glasses, and VR/AR games.
10. Tech Gadgets and Innovations: This niche includes products related to emerging tech gadgets and innovations such as drones, 3D printers, smart mirrors, and other cutting-edge technology products.

Again, many of these are too broad, so let’s go down to something like drones, within the tech gadgets. From there, you can start to build your site. Of course, you can also drill further into the niches with ChatGPT, but I’ll leave that up to you.

Remember that while these are great ideas, you still need to do your keyword research. Make sure the niches are not too saturated and check out the competition before you settle completely on a topic.

Write a Product Review with ChatGPT

The next thing we’ll look at is how to create a product review with AI. You can do this with any AI writing tools, I’m just focusing on ChatGPT today because most people have access to it for free. In order to create a good affiliate site, you’re probably going to have more than a few reviews within the content.

ChatGPT is not bad at creating these articles and reviews on its own, but why settle for not bad when you could have great?

There are two ways to go about creating a much better product review than just asking ChatGPT to write one. You can either improve your prompt or you can use a pre-existing prompt.

Improve Your Text Prompt

If you want to do this all on your own, you should add some details to your prompt. For example, ChatGPT can be a bit dry when writing out an article. To offset this, you may want to suggest something like “write in a personable manner” or “inject humor and anecdotes” to help it be a bit more interesting.

Get creative. You can even ask it to write in the style of ____, using any writer. In some cases, ChatGPT may not know the writer, but it can usually get the style properly.

Using a Pre-Written Prompt

One of the best discoveries I’ve made for ChatGPT is AIRPM, a Chrome extension that gives you access to a huge library of prompts that can turn the AI into something extraordinary. Once you’ve downloaded the extension, you can open ChatGPT to see this:

You can select the topic you need a prompt for in the dropdown on the far left. You can also select All and do a search for product review, which will give you something like this (I’ve zoomed out to make it easier to see the options):

All you need to do is pick one and follow the directions to get the article. I suggest testing a few out until you get the results you’re looking for.

This is a great way to ensure you get exactly what you need in a product review. The information will usually be better written than if you were to just ask the AI to create a review on a specific product. I personally have tried several and most of them are pretty good at what they do. However, there will likely be some errors. For example, I had it generate a product review on Wealthy Affiliate and the AI recommended buying WA on Amazon, which obviously, is not possible.

In short, use the AI to write product reviews, but double check everything!

Write a Product Description with ChatGPT

Sometimes, as an affiliate marketer, you need to write a product description. It’s never a good idea to use the description directly from the manufacturer’s site, so coming up with something new is essential. This will present it as new material to Google, but also makes it more appealing to potential customers.

Again, the AIPRM extension can help with this, as it already has a number of product description prompts to use.

Here is a product description that I asked the regular ChatGPT to write on cranberry supplements. I gave it the URL to the product on Amazon and this is what it came up with:

Nature’s Bounty Natural Cranberry Concentrate is a high-quality dietary supplement that supports urinary tract health. Made from the finest cranberries, this concentrated formula provides the benefits of cranberry in a convenient and easy-to-take softgel form.

Each softgel contains 25,000 mg of cranberry concentrate, equivalent to 500 mg of fresh cranberries. Cranberries are well-known for their natural antioxidant properties and have been traditionally used to support urinary tract health. This supplement is a great option for those who want to incorporate the benefits of cranberry into their daily routine in a simple and convenient way.

Nature’s Bounty Natural Cranberry Concentrate is free of artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners, and is also gluten-free. The softgel form allows for easy absorption, making it a convenient option for those with busy lifestyles. This bottle contains 250 softgels, providing a generous supply for long-term use.

Now, I repeated this, but using the first prompt in the AIPRM product description search, E-Commerce SEO: Generate Enticing Product Descriptions! Here is the result from that prompt:

“Boost Your Urinary Tract Health with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills”

Are you tired of struggling with urinary tract issues? Look no further than Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills! Packed with the natural goodness of cranberries and enriched with Vitamin C, these herbal health supplements are designed to support your urinary tract health. There was actually a lot more to this, but it was too much to post here. The prompt gave me multiple options with each description focusing on a separate benefit of the pills, along with related keywords, main points, and meta descriptions to use. In short, it not only wrote a peppier description, but gave me far more information that I could use to promote the product.

Create Ads with ChatGPT

Planning on advertising your affiliate products? Once more, ChatGPT comes to the rescue. You can specify just how many words or lines you want for your ad, then have the AI write it for you. Add descriptors so you get the results you want. In fact, it’s helpful to ask for 5-10 options. For example, I asked it to give me one sentence ad copy for the previous product and this is what it came out with:

1. “Revitalize Your Urinary Tract with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills – Shop Now!”
2. “Combat UTIs Naturally with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills – Buy Today!”
3. “Experience Optimal Urinary Tract Health with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills – Order Now!”
4. “Boost Your Immunity and Urinary Tract Health with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills – Shop Today!”
5. “Say Goodbye to UTI Woes – Try Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills for a Healthy Urinary Tract – Buy Now!”

Get specific about where you plan to advertise, as well. For example, you can say, write a Twitter ad on the previous product and this is what it came up with:

Upgrade Your Urinary Tract Health with Nature’s Bounty Cranberry Pills! 🌿💪 Say goodbye to UTI worries and boost your immunity naturally. Shop now and take proactive steps towards a healthier urinary tract! #UrinaryHealth #Wellness #CranberryPills

Obviously, you can adjust these to meet your particular needs, but starting out with some examples can be a very good way to get the ball rolling. In addition, you’ll find that often, the AI gives you the copy you need as is.

Ask ChatGPT to Give You Insertion Ideas

Do you have an existing piece of content? Not sure where to put the affiliate links? You can ask ChatGPT to do this for you. Just copy and paste the article and ask the AI to add an asterisk wherever it feels you could include an affiliate link to your specific product.

In seconds, you’ll have it generated and you can simply do a search for the asterisk to find where to add URLs to your affiliate products. This is helpful if someone else is writing the content, AI wrote it, or you’re going back over older content to monetize it.

With so many ways to use AI in your marketing campaigns, affiliate marketers will find it very useful. You can do product research, niche research, find the perfect words to describe the affiliate product and even create ads on it.
